  • Four more Malaysians abducted in Sabah?
  • Philippine media report four Malaysian kidnapped this morning
  • after four Malaysians released last week

My comments : If this is true then the ESSCOM must relabel themselves ASS-COM. It appears that the Abu Sayyaf are really mocking everyone. They can move at will. We are spending hundreds of millions of Ringgit on security in Sabah and yet people still get kidnapped at will.  We cannot seem to be able to stop them.

The ESSCOM does not even have an early warning system to confirm if four Malaysians have indeed been kidnapped. We have to liase with the Filipinos? Can I give a hint : please check with their families or employers.

Folks, I have said this before. There is almost a one-to-one correlationship between these kidnaps and attacks and certain events that happen in the Philippines.

I hope someone in ESSCOM is reading this.

The big Lahad Datu attack took places within weeks of yet another "Peace Agreement" which did not include the Abu Sayyaf and Nur Muhammad Misuari. The Abu Sayyaf attacked Lahad Datu as a show of force. That they are still around.

Everytime there is some peace talks, some security operation or any kind of Philippine government action being taken over Mindanao or the Moros, there are these attacks and kidnappings. It is an immediate retaliation.

And guess what? Something did happen in the Philippines on Wednesday (yesterday). This is from the Manila Times :
  • June 15, 2016 (yesterday)
  • President Aquino led top-level meeting in Jolo, Sulu on Wed
  • to “refine” military strategy to rescue all hostages
  • flew to south on Wed and presided over security meeting
  • agreed how to rescue remaining hostages he told reporters.
  • President considered declaring martial law in Sulu three weeks ago
  • Aquino, will step down on June 30
So there was something going on. Retiring president Aquino held a meeting in Jolo yesterday about taking more military action against the Abu Sayyaf.

The Abu Sayyaf reacted immediately by kidnapping four more hostages from Sabah. It is another show of force by the Abu Sayyaf.

So my advice to the ESSCOM is please read the Philippine newspapers. Each time the Philippines talks about "peace accords", 'military action', 'martial law' etc the Abu Sayyaf react by attacking Sabah and / or kidnapping people especially Malaysians.

Here is something else. Come July 1st there is a new president in town in Manila. Kick Ass Rodrigo Duterte is not going to tolerate the Abu Sayyaf.

I think he will give them like 24 hours to surrender (which they will not), after which he is going to ship out half the Philippine Army down south to Jolo, Tawi-Tawi and Mindanao and tell the Army they cannot go home until the Abu Sayyaf are wiped out.

There is going to be a huge outflow of Abu Sayyaf and other refugees into Sabah.

Hello ESSCOM, Duterte takes over on July 1st - which is 14 days away.  Are you prepared for all eventualities once President Duterte comes to power?

Duterte has said that once he becomes President he wants to bring back the death penalty.   The Phillipine Senate has replied they will not agree to the death penalty.

Duterte said that as president of the Philippines, their Constitution gives the president the power to abolish (yes abolish) the entire Philippine Senate. Which he says he will do - come July 1st, 2016 - if the Senate plays hardball with him.

Duterte says that he is 71 years old. He says he is not sure if he can even live till the end of his seven year presidential term.  So he says he is going to do what he is going to do for the Philippines. He does not care who says what about him.

If he thinks it is the right thing to do, he will do it.

I think the Abu Sayyaf and the Moros are not ready for Duterte.

So is ESSCOM prepared for Duterte?
