Part 1 - Similarities Between The Bible And Extra-Quranic "Islam"

Hi folks. This is the month of the fast.   We have to talk a little bit about Islam and religion - which are not the same.

Islam is a deen or a way of life. This is what is described in the Quran.

Religion on the other hand is what is preached by the talibans, the wahhabis, the various sects etc.  The two are not quite the same.

Huh ? Pasai apa pula? After 1400 years Bawang wants  another new approach to Islam?  So the 1400 year old approach has failed? What does Bawang mean?

Folks, take it from me. We dont need any new approach. Lets all go back 1400 years. Lets go back to the 1400 year old Quran. Life becomes wonderful and meaningful.

When I speak about Islam (or religion) I choose my words very carefully.  If you go back through all my writings here, you will see (for example) that I dont even use some words - ever.  Trying to be precise.

Anyway, all arabic words have their literal meanings. 

What is the literal meaning of the word "ramadhan"? 

Literally "ramadhan" means extreme heat, a time of drought,  feeling the heat.   That is the literal meaning of "ramadhan". 

Literally the words  "shahru ramadhaan" (which are mentioned in the Quran) refer a hot period, the hot months or feeling an intense heat.

Ok so much about that.  Lock it up somewhere inside your memories.

You must still recall Zakir Naik.  This controversial preacher was here recently where he caused quite a stir  trying to talk about   "Similarities Between Hinduism And Islam".

For this effort the Terengganu gomen wanted to give him three islands in Tasik Kenyir.  Wow !!

Motivated perhaps by Zakir Naik I would like to say some thing about  'Similarities Between The Bible And Extra-Quranic "Islam"  '.

Maybe after reading this, the Terengganu gomen will be moved to give me Pulau Redang ?   Failing which I will settle for the 'Republic of Besut'.

Anyway some MCKK alumni from Kelantan are supposed to be behind the following graphic. Thats all I know. But it is interesting. 

  

It is titled 'How to pray according to the Bible?'  What I have done is append the five Biblical verses they have referred to.        

 

 

1.  Exodus 3:5 New International Version (NIV)

5 “Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.”

2.  Exodus 40:31-32  New International Version (NIV)

31 and Moses and Aaron and his sons used it to wash their hands and feet. 32 They washed whenever they entered the tent of meeting or approached the altar, as the Lord commanded Moses.

3.  Mark 11:25  New International Version (NIV)

25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

4.   Luke 22:41  New International Version (NIV)

41 He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed,

5.    Matthew 26:39  New International Version (NIV)

39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”
