'Rosmah helped thousands of children but what has Rafizi done?'

The aide to prime minister's wife Rosmah Mansor has fired salvoes at PKR secretary-gneral Rafizi Ramli for revealing her boss' use of a private jet.

Rizal Mansor said the revelation was intended to create a negative perception against Rosmah amid the Kuala Kangsar and Sungai Besar by-elections.

"He should be using the campaign period to tell the rakyat what his party has contributed to the rakyat and not raise questions that are unrelated to the by-elections.

"At least, Rosmah inspired a programme that has benefited thousands of children and this programme even received international recognition.

"What kind of programme has YB (Rafizi) done?" he said in a statement to Malaysiakini.

Rizal was referring to the early childhood programme, Permata, which was the brainchild of Rosmah.

Permata is a programme under the Prime Minister's Department of which Rosmah is the patron.

Rafizi had questioned Rosmah use of a private jet to accept the 3G Children Welfare Award at the Global Good Governance Award 2016 in Istanbul on May 27.

Rizal explained that this was due to Rosmah's tight schedule and that she could not accommodate all her events had she used a commercial flight.

Rizal said he hoped Rafizi wasn't trying to joke around when he raised the issue of Rosmah's use of a private jet, particularly in a holy month.

"We are encouraged to do good to each other in the noble month of Ramadan.

"We don't need a MCKK (Malay Kuala Kangsar College) graduate to be asking such questions," he said. - Mkini
