ALOR SETAR: Police are looking for a man who tried to break open a donation box inside the state police contingent headquarters’ mosque here.

The incident was discovered when the 32-year-old mosque imam entered the premises at 6.15pm on Thursday to switch on the air-conditioning.
He saw the man trying to break open the donation box’s padlock.
The thief ran out of the mosque, leaving behind his tools, and fled on a motorcycle parked outside.
Kota Setar district deputy OCPD Supt Yazri Ismail said the investigating officer was trying to identify the culprit through the CCTV footage obtained from the mosque, adding that a police report had been lodged.
