MORE NAJIB CASH SURFACES: MONEY FOUND WITH PMO GUARDS NOW RM1.47 MILLION – ALSO SEIZED 7 CARS, 12 MOTORBIKES, 5 RINGS, 4 NECKLACES, BRACELET, 11 HANDPHONES & ELECTRICAL GOODS

KUALA LUMPUR – Cash seized by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) following the recent arrests of 17 security personnel from the Prime Minister’s Department (PMD) over misappropriation of funds has reached RM1.47 million.
The tally is now RM280,000 higher than the RM1.19 million announced by the MACC on Friday.
Its deputy chief commissioner (operations) Datuk Seri Azam Baki confirmed this when contacted by NSTP today.
In total, the MACC has seized RM1.47 million in cash, seven vehicles, 12 motorcycles, five rings, a bracelet, four necklaces, 11 mobile phones and electrical appliances.
The seven vehicles are three Hondas, a Volkswagen Golf GTI, a Subaru Impreza, a Toyota Vios and a Perodua Alza; while the 12 motorcycles are made up of five Yahamas and seven Hondas.
It is learnt that all the seized items are in the process of being price evaluated.
Last Wednesday, NSTP reported that 17 security guards at the PMD were remanded for five days to assist in an investigation into abuse of power and misappropriation of RM3.5 million.
Those detained include a 51-year-old Grade KP52 security officer and 16 Grade KP11 to KP38 security guards, aged between 31 and 51, who were working at Complex B of the PMD.
The assets and cash are believed to have been acquired from a 14th general election allocation allegedly taken from the office of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Immediately after the arrests on Tuesday, the MACC seized RM840,700 in cash and nine motorcycles worth RM90,000 from the suspects.
