Motion against Bung’s 'F-word' postponed

PARLIAMENT | Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin has requested for her motion to have Kinabatangan MP Bung Moktar Radin (above) referred to the Parliamentary privileges committee to be postponed to the next sitting.
Speaker Mohamad Ariff Mohd Yusof announced this in the Dewan Rakyat tonight with the reason being that Bung had agreed to issue a public apology.
“It is understood that the Kinabatangan MP has agreed to apologise for using rude words during the Aug 7 session of the House.
“He has requested to leave the session for some urgent business and promised to apologise publicly in the House during the next sitting,” said Mohamad Ariff.
Earlier, Bung had condemned Zuraida’s motion as unfairly targeting him and that it was an “injustice”.
Zuraida's motion had concerned his uttering of an obscene word in the House that had offended other lawmakers and which she said had also smeared the prestige of Parliament.
Although the motion did not specify the exact nature of the offence, it is believed to pertain to Bung firing off a four-letter F-word twice in the Dewan Rakyat on Aug 7 while debating the Sales Tax Bill 2018.
