KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has denied allegations that it had ignored evidence in the probe of a senior Tabung Haji board member.
It also refuted claims it had threatened witnesses when investigating the matter.
MACC said it always acted professionally and abided by the rule of law in its investigations.
“Any arrest or detention by the MACC is meant to help in the investigations which are based on solid evidence.
“The MACC always observes the standard operating procedure, the laws and regulations in carrying out investigations in a transparent, independent and professional manner without prejudice.
MACC also refused to release information on the outcome of the investigation, saying it would only submit investigation papers to the Attorney-General’s Chambers. - FMT
