In Bossku campaign, Muhyiddin sees Najib's ambition to return as PM

SEMENYIH POLLS | Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin today claimed that former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak was harbouring ambitions to make a comeback.
He said this in response to Najib's campaigning in Semenyih by-election under his trademark "Bossku" monicker.
"Perhaps BN is worried and feel they need to show his face.
"He has intentions to return to Umno and become prime minister again," Muhyiddin told journalists after his visit to Kampung Baru Semenyih.
However, Muhyiddin said he is unconcerned by Najib's publicity blitz in Semenyih.
"We are no worried... He is one of the main reasons BN lost in the 14th general election," he added.
Najib led the BN/Alliance to its first electoral defeat since independence. He is now facing multiple money-laundering and corruption charges in relation to the 1MDB scandal.
On a separate matter, Muhyiddin said the public should not jump to conclusion over the replacement of Department of Orang Asli Development (Jakoa) director-general Ajis Sitin.
Yesterday, incoming Cameron Highland MP Ramli Mohd Nor claimed that Ajis was replaced following Harapan's defeat in the Cameron Highlands by-election.
"It is quite normal for heads of department to be changed. I don't think it is because we lost," he said.
Semenyih voters will go to the polls on March 2 where they will have to vote from among four candidates.
The candidates are BN's Zakaria Hanafi, Harapan's Muhammad Aiman Zainali, PSM' Nik Aziz Afiq Abdul and independent candidate Kuan Chee Heng.
The seat fell vacant following the passing of Bersatu incumbent Bakhtiar Mohd Nor. - Mkini
