HADI AWANG AND HIS PAS LEADERS SHOULD STOP HOODWINKING THE RAKYAT BY PLAYING-UP RACE AND RELIGIOUS ISSUES

 

I need to fully concur with Mariam Mokhtar's article "Cotton wool wrap for Malays, barbed wire for non-Muslims" and hope Hadi Awang and his his party leaders would speak sensible views and should not underrate the rakyat's intelligence with their "nonsense" talk which could actually tantamount to "insulting or provoking" a certain race or races in Malaysia.

Due to the RM90 Million and RM1.43 Million sagas affecting them, Hadi Awang and his Pas leaders have been trying their best to distort the Malay Muslim rakyat that it is all a mere lie.

How can it be a lie when public donations were collected to initiate a lawsuit in London against Sarawak Report's Clare Rewcastle over her article that 'RM90 Million was given to Hadi Awang and his Pas leaders by Najib Razak'. To dispute this allegation, a case was taken at London. To the surprise of everyone and suppose to be a secret, a out-of-court settlement was reached with a settlement figure of RM1,422,980.00 being paid to cover the legal cost incurred by Clare Rewcastle. This clearly establishes that what Clare Rewcastle wrote is true and factual.

With the MACC investigating this matter, it is hoped that an appropriate action is undertaken as soon as possible so that this episode could shed some light on the culprits who had collected the RM90 Million proceeds. The culprits should be given the maximum punishment in law so as to deter future leaders from following these footsteps to hoodwink the rakyat. - Mohd. Kamal Abdullah
