Hooray - Toll To Be Reduced Next Month Says Tun Daim, Min Wage Hikes Postponed 16 Months Says Kula, Proton Cuts Car Prices

First here is a TV news report (to save time please drag the cursor to minute 10:00 and onwards) where Tun Daim Zainuddin the Chairman of the Council of Eminent Persons says that "he hopes" the tolls will be reduced maybe by next month.

I really hope so too.  The people have kicked out a 62 year old government and put in place a new government. Most importantly the power transition took place so peacefully and smoothly - except for an imported lemon look alike who tried to derail the swearing in.  This was a major milestone achievement in history - especially for a Third World, Islamic country like ours.

So please reward the people by undoing those unnecessary restraints on the Malaysian economy that were used to prop up the earlier regime. That is why they were kicked out. So undo all those wrong things they have been doing. Reducing the tolls and ultimately abolishing them is a major step.

Reducing the tolls will reduce the cost of living.

Then more good news. Kula the Minister of Human Resources has said that there will be no more hikes in the Minimum Wages for the next 16 months.

Something is better than nothing. Even the present RM1,100 is killing off many businesses.  The Malaysian economy just does not have the productivity to pay these type of Minimum Wages.  Just drop the subject for the next 16 months. But please do not threaten businesses with enforcement. Cool down. Do not harass the employers. Let the market find its own level.

Here is more good news from Proton which is now owned by the Chinese Geely car company.  This news is old, from December 2018. Proton will sell the SUV X70 at the same prices in Sabah and Sarawak as on the Peninsula. This means that soon other car brands will also be offering the same to their car buyers in Sabah and Sarawak. This is market competition.

Then Proton is also CUTTING ITS PRICES for the Proton Iriz - by up to RM3,600 !!

This is fantastic.
Now other car companies will also be cutting their car prices.
The cost of living should go down.
Thanks to Proton.

It is obvious that competition is better than protection.

For over 30 years Proton was super protected.
And it only made Proton lazy.
The end game was Proton went bust and had to be sold off.

Now under new management ie Geely of China, Proton has seen a revival - in just a few months.  Under Geely, Proton can compete.

Geely has turned around the management of the company, introduced new models and are now reducing the prices of Proton cars. This is really good news.

This is all the result of more competition in the market.
The cost of living should go down.

Competition is better than protection.
Just free up the market.
There is no real free market competition in Malaysia.
That is why we are poor and our unemployment rate is increasing.
We need more open market competition.
Remove the artificial 'government imposed' barriers.
