Indie turned away from PKR event after trying to pass manifesto to Anwar

RANTAU POLLS | Independent candidate R Malar for the Rantau by-election was stopped from entering a PKR event tonight to pass her manifesto to Anwar Ibrahim.
She turned up at the 20th-anniversary celebrations of PKR in Pekan Rantau, but was stopped by cops and party members after asking for permission to give her manifesto to the PKR president.
"As an independent candidate, I have the right to give my manifesto to Anwar.
"But I was stopped and chased off. This is the justice that PKR practices," she told reporters after being turned away.
After being denied access to Anwar, Malar, who used to be a radio host in Canada, held her manifesto up for all to see. She then declined to give the document to a member of the event staff who had asked to be given a copy.
Anwar was accompanied by his wife Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, and PKR deputy president Azmin Ali at the event.
Also present were national laureate A Samad Said, DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang, Negeri Sembilan Bersatu chairperson Rais Yatim and Pakatan Harapan candidate for the April 13 by-election, Dr S Streram.  - Mkini
