Dewan Rakyat deputy speaker Nga Kor Ming has denied that a parliamentary officer had uploaded the contents of the Felda White Paper onto the Parliament’s official website.
Speaking to reporters at the Parliament lobby today, Nga rebutted opposition leader Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who claimed that parliamentary staff had leaked the contents of the White Paper a day before the lifting of the embargo on April 10.
Ismail made the claim when defending Pekan MP Najib Abdul Razak, as the Dewan Rakyat mooted referring Najib to the rights and privileges committee for allegedly leaking the document.
While admitting that a "link" for the White Paper appeared on the Parliament website to show the agenda of the April 10 sitting, Nga said the officer had not uploaded the contents of the document.
"When you click on the link, it is empty," he said, adding that the officer had only uploaded the contents of the White Paper after it was tabled by Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali.
"So, it is not right to say the staff leaked the content. There is no need for the opposition to slander the officer."
