KUALA LUMPUR: There are no indication of Malaysians involved in the Easter Day Sri Lankan bombings, Inspector-General of Police Mohamad Fuzi Harun said today.
Fuzi was responding to questions on whether Malaysia is in any way linked to the series of bombings.
“There have been allegations, but from preliminary investigations, we are unable to verify. It is too early.
“But for now, there are no indications. We need to probe further,” he told reporters at the police training centre.
He said all police had been ordered to be on alert for any retaliation from certain parties in the country.
“We are keeping watch at various locations, including the Sri Lankan embassy.
“We have also contacted international and local agencies to identify who were behind the six bombings which killed more than 300 people,” he said.
The foreign ministry had confirmed that no Malaysians were reported to have been injured in the explosions which occurred at hotels and churches in Colombo. -FMT
