A few weeks back I mentioned some Ortho Molecular Therapy (OMT) and dietary advice from the late Prof Syed Hussein Alatas which worked well for me. Within ONE MONTH amy cholesterol, lactic acid readings became normal. I received some emails asking for details of Prof Alatas dietary advice. I replied one email and my apologies for the delay in putting it here in my blog - which I replied I would do.
Before I share that may I also encourage any of you who suffer from diabetes that the diabetes can be turned around. Yes you can overcome it quite easily and I know people (including me now) who can keep their diabetes under control with minimal medication or no extra medication.
1. First the OMT.
Ortho Molecular Therapy is to restore the body down to the cellular / molecular level. This means taking food supplements like vitamins and minerals.
Talk to your doctor, Google or ask the local pharmacist about a complete vitamin dosage. This means you should cover Vitamins A, B, C, D, E plus minerals like zinc (very important), calcium etc.
To save money you can choose from so many available multi-vitamins that have a wide range of vitamins and minerals in one tablet.
The Vitamin B has a range B1, B2, B3 etc. Vitamin B3 (aka nicotinic acid) opens up your blood vessels for better circulation. Heart patients please consult your doctor.
Taking the vitamins are a permanent thing - for life. Do consult your doctor if you have underlying health issues although I dont think vitamins killed anyone.
2, The dietary method to lower cholesterol, lactic acids.
Give yourself 30 days to see results. The trick is steamed vegetables.
For 30 days you have to eat a really full plate of steamed vegetables (all types - greens, reds, purple anything will do) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This is a must.
For breakfast you should also eat fibre rich food especially oats. So steamed veges and oats everyday for breakfast for 30 days. You can have a hard boiled egg as well. Fruits are ok too. Tea, coffee is ok but black coffee or plain tea. The fibre helps detox the system.
IF YOU ARE DIABETIC NO SUGAR. ABSOLUTELY NO SUGAR.
For lunch you must have that plate of steamed vegetables again, plus two slices of wheat bread with one or two hard boiled eggs. Thats it. For 30 days.
You can have one teh tarik or kopi tarik kurang manis for tea but for diabetics WITHOUT sugar. No kuih, no bee hoon at tea time etc. For 30 days.
Dinner is again that full plate of steamed vegetables but you can add any meat items to the steamed vegetables.
NO RICE. For 30 days.
FOR DIABETICS NO RICE, NO WHITE BREAD, NO SUGARS. FULL STOP. FOR 30 DAYS.
Do a blood test before you start the diet (lipids - cholesterol, sugar, lactic acids etc) and do another blood test after the 30 days are done. If your numbers were high there should be a reduction.
After the 30 days are over you can relax a little. Maintenance diet. Maybe reduce the steamed veges. You can have some rice at lunch and dinner (less than half portion). Its ok to have cheat days - when you have lunch appointments, the wife cooked something nice. Its ok.
You can test your blood again say in six months. If things go haywire go back to the 30 day bootcamp. It works.
3. LOWERING BLOOD SUGAR FOR DIABETICS
For diabetics here is some personal experience. You can lower your sugar to normal ie 7 and below. ("Fasting sugar", before breakfast). Below 10 is easy to achieve. I am an 8+ now.
RULE NO 1 - NO SUGAR, NO RICE, NO WHITE BREAD. Reduce carbohydrates. This is the default setting. This is your everyday food regimen at home and at work.
Once or twice a week you can go out for lunch or dinner with people, or if there is some nice food cooked at home then its ok to cheat. But your default regimen is NO RICE, NO WHITE BREAD, NO SUGAR.
If you are on doctor's medication continue with the medication.
STOP EATING ALL FOOD BY 6PM EVERYDAY. OR BETTER BY 5PM. No more eating after this cut off time. You can still drink water, have a black coffee or plain tea, maybe some nuts or a little fruits but the default setting is NO MORE FOOD after 5pm or 6pm.
Until breakfast the next day at 10 AM. Your stomach must go without eating for at least 16 hours overnite. They call it intermittent fasting. (You can Google it).
You can have a normal breakfast, normal lunch but THE DEFAULT SETTING IS NO RICE, NO WHITE BREAD AND NO SUGAR. REMEMBER STOP EATING BY 5-6 PM.
You can have cheat days - once or twice a week - but return to the default setting asap.
This will take some time, at least three months, but your body will adjust and your blood sugar level will come down. This method is longer lasting.
Plus you will lose weight. I lost 13 pounds. The body becomes lighter and healthier.
CAUTION : A friend of mine who has done this successfully once went hypoglycaemic - his sugar went below 5. So do carry some sweets or grab a sugary drink if you feel your sugar level can get too low.
I hope these will work for you too.
