Incumbent Layang-Layang assemblyperson Onn Hafiz Ghazi has blasted Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, saying that publishing and then apologising for a post that was critical of a PKR rep was hypocrisy.
"Congratulations! This is political hypocrisy at its finest. You wrongly shot your own friend then apologise.
"Previously you could talk about integrity, principles, transparency, courage to be truthful and so-on.
"It's all an Oscar drama played to deceive the eyes of the people," said Onn in a facebook post today.
Yesterday Syed Saddiq issued an apology over his earlier remarks seen as targeting alleged failures of incumbent Tiram assemblyperson Gopalakrishnan Subramaniam (below).
"Muda itself is not perfect. Including me.
"I admit the posting on my visit to Ulu Tiram have degraded the duties and responsibilities carried out by the Keadilan assemblyperson," said the Muda president.
"In the spirit of solidarity with colleagues in Keadilan, I apologise for my mistake," said the former minister who made references to complaints allegedly received from Ulu Tiram residents against their elected assemblyperson.
Onn who is the great-grandson of Umno founder Onn Jaafar and nephew of Umno veteran Hishammuddin Hussein, was having none of it.
"How can we rise up with hypocrisy, lies and slander?
"The people of Johor have long opened their eyes," claimed the Umno man who served as Johor exco for youth, sports and tourism in the last state administration.
He even quoted assassinated American president Abraham Lincoln saying "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.” - Mkini
