The results for the PKR national and divisional elections will be announced on May 29, according to the party’s central election committee (JPP).
In a circular, JPP chairperson Dr Zaliha Mustafa announced that this would take place after the re-elections that are to be held in several divisions.
"In line with the JPP Circular No 01/2022 dated March 4, 2022, the date for results of Central Leadership Council and division elections have been amended following re-elections in Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah and Selangor.
"Therefore, the results for MPP and division elections will be displayed on the polls’ website beginning from May 29," Zahila (above) said yesterday.
Zaliha's statement effectively ended speculations over the announcement date for the PKR election results after voting ended on May 22.
On Monday, she announced that physical re-elections would be held in eight divisions from four states before the end of this month.
The unofficial results, Zahila added, would be known after the re-elections in Gua Musang, Pengkalan Chepa, Bachok, Ketereh and Tumpat in Kelantan, Dungun (Terengganu), Hulu Selangor (Selangor) and Padang Serai (Kedah).
In a separate circular, Zaliha said the JPP is ready to enter the next phase of the party elections involving nominations for MPP members, central Women Leadership Council and central Youth Leadership Council.
She said the nomination date has been set for May 29 and candidates can register themselves on the date via the Adil application, or by being present at the PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya from 9am to 5pm. - Mkini
