
In Sabah, 875 individuals from 254 families are taking shelter at 10 PPS, up from 687 people from 191 families yesterday evening.
According to the state disaster management committee secretariat, Beaufort and Keningau became the latest districts to be affected this morning, joining Nabawan and Sook which were hit earlier.
Nabawan registered the highest number of evacuees at 467 people from 119 families across six PPS, followed by Sook with 232 evacuees from 77 families at two centres.
Beaufort recorded 108 individuals from 40 families, and Keningau reported 68 evacuees from 18 families.
“A total of 40 villages have been affected by the floods: 30 in Nabawan, six in Beaufort, and two each in Sook and Keningau,” it said in a statement.
In Johor, the number of flood evacuees dropped to 148 from 48 families this morning, compared to 163 from 52 families yesterday evening.
State disaster management committee chairman Azmi Rohani said only the Batu Pahat district remained affected, with one PPS still operating at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Gading. - FMT
