EAIC: N Sembilan anti-drug officers breached SOP during raid

 

Several Negeri Sembilan National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) officers breached standard operating procedures (SOP) during an operation at Kampung Felda LBJ, Labu, on March 8, 2023.

The Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) said this in a statement today, adding that its investigation also found that several individuals who tested positive for drugs were released during the operation.

It said this constitutes an offence under Section 221 (Intentional omission to apprehend on the part of a public servant bound by law to apprehend) of the Penal Code.

Following this, the EAIC decided to refer the findings of criminal conduct to the public prosecutor under subparagraph 30(1)(c) of the EAIC Act 2009 (Act 700).

At the same time, the commission stated that the misconduct of the AADK officers involved will be referred to the Disciplinary Authority with a recommendation for disciplinary action under subparagraph 30(1)(b) of Act 700.

Previously, the EAIC received a complaint against the Negeri Sembilan AADK for allegedly releasing several individuals who tested positive for drugs during the raid.

Subsequently, an investigation was conducted based on the complaint received, in accordance with subsection 27(4) of Act 700.
