NUSAJAYA: A 37-year-old cattle breeder was shot dead in front of his family while he was performing prayers at the Sri Mahariaman Hindu temple in Taman Nusantara in Gelang Patah here yesterday.
K Jaganathan died due to several shots to his chest after two men on a Yamaha LC motorcycle stopped at the temple, while one of them fired several shots at him about 7.15pm yesterday.
The victim was then with a group of 10 people who were performing special prayers when the incident happened.
The victim was pronounced dead after he was rushed to a nearby clinic.
Police from the Nusajaya district headquarters rushed to the scene upon receiving the report and have cordoned off the temple area.
Investigators are still trying to determine the type of firearm used.
