Its your call, Waytha!

Hindraf chairman P Waytha Moorthy has tendered his resignation from all positions in the government and the Senate, effective Feb 10, according to a statement from Hindraf.

(Ungrateful! PM and the government appointed him and 'recognised' Hindraf, hoping there would be changes to the Indians' hardliner standpoint about what a multiracial Malaysia is. We were hoping that they would pass down the message that the 'revolting' Indians must learn how to appreciate the country, try to consider and tolerate others and start thinking as Malaysians. Remember what they did during Pak Lah's era?)

Hindraf secretary P. Ramesh said the central committee unanimously decided that Waytha Moorthy should tender his resignation, claiming the government had been 'dragging its feet' in delivering its promises to aid the poor Malaysian Indian community.

(Eight months too long a period? They ancestors who were brought and migrated to Malaysia had waited for one century to become citizens of the country but the present generation in Hindraf feels they are still part of India. They badmouthed Malaysia in many parts of India and even asked New Delhi to cut trade ties or severe out diplomatic relations! If eight months is too long, you can't even wait for your wife to deliver!)

“Hindraf owes its loyalty to the Malaysian Indian poor community and to them only.

(Okay, right. For the Indians only. It was not the government's fault that they remain poor. Look at the rich Indians, what have they contributed? For your info, there are still many poor Malays in the country, not enough to eat and wear, more than the Indians. But there are many rich Indians in Malaysia, so successful they are that they channeled their money overseas; they do not trust if their money is kept here)

“We did the most unthinkable - signing a pact with our one-time nemesis, entirely in the interest of the Malaysian Indian poor and in the honest belief that Barisan Nasional will fulfil its promises.

(Barisan Nasional always deliver even though it takes time. Not easy to manage a multiracial society like ours, if you need to know. But while BN tolerates Hindraf, you took advantage of PM's goodwill by imposing your ridicule on him and the government. You even protected the convicted Indians and did not bother about the rise of gangsterism about Indian youth. Is this the kind of culture you tried to inculcate? You don't have the patience, you expected the stars to fall on one call)

“We have given up hope of that happening, after eight months of trying,” he added.

(So, be it. Look into the mirror and ask what have you and Hindraf done to help the poor Indians. Being a minority group within the pro-BN Indian community, you wanted a special treatment, forgetting the fact that the Chinese needed no assistance to become what they are today. Being the majority, the Malays had never complained about the Indians and in fact treated them like a family. You wanted to become a Robin Hood but your attitude toward BN, PM and the Malays didn't qualify you to become a hero. You thought the Malays were oppressing the Indians, BN was bullying them and the government couldn't care less about the Indians. The Malays and Chinese cannot change the Indians; they themselves must subscribe to the right Malaysian attitude. It goes to the Malays too; they will not be able to elevate their standard of living unless they strive for it).

Think positive, bro. Something don't come easy, something always take some time. Hindraf must become a good-engaging partner for other Indians and the rest of Malaysians.

So, where would you be after this? Back to where you and Hindraf belonged? If you don't have faith in others, nobody will believe in what you do!
