PETALING JAYA: The Sepang district in Selangor has been classified as a Covid-19 red zone following an increase of 24 new cases from the day before.
A district is classified as a red zone when it has more than 40 active cases.
A health ministry infographic shows that there are currently 64 active cases in Sepang.
The increase in cases is related to the new Covid-19 cluster at the Sepang detention depot where 36 individuals have tested positive for the disease.
The other active red zones in the country are:
Hulu Langat (Selangor)
Bukit Jalil and Ibu Kota (Kuala Lumpur)
Rembau (Negeri Sembilan)
There are now 131 green zones with zero active cases nationwide.
To date, 7,819 Covid-19 cases have been recorded with 115 deaths. Some 6,353 people have recovered while 1,351 are still being treated. - FMT
