19 women among 39 nabbed at drug party in Bangsar

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 39 people, including 19 women, were detained following a raid on a drug-laden wild party in Bangsar.
Acting on a tip-off, police personnel raided the wild party held at a bungalow in Bangsar around 1.15am on Friday (June 5).
Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Zairulnizam Mohd Zainuddin @ Hilmi said police detained 20 local men, 10 local women and nine Vietnamese nationals aged from 18 to 40.
"We also seized an array of drugs, including 12 ecstasy pills, 4.5g of ketamine and 46.12g of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) tablets.
"Initial investigations revealed that one of the female suspects had rented the bungalow online via the Airbnb app and paid RM1,900 for one night," he said in a statement on Saturday (June 6).
The drugs were believed to have been supplied by the party host, he added.
"The party goers were invited to the event via phone calls and WhatsApp," ACP Zairulnizam said.
A total of 32 of the suspects tested positive for drugs, while seven others tested negative, he added.
"On top of being arrested, the Malaysian suspects were also issued with compounds for violating the regulations under the conditional movement control order (MCO).
"All suspects have been remanded until Thursday (June 11)," he added.
ACP Zairulnizam thanked the public for relaying information on the wild party.
"We are grateful for the cooperation given by members of the public.
"We will take stern action against anyone who breaks the law and violate the regulations during the conditional MCO period," he said.
He also urged those with information or inquiries to contact Brickfields police hotline at 03-22979222 or the nearest police station. - Star
