Anwar is just a 'rubber stamp' - Daroyah

One of the reasons which drove Dr Daroyah Alwi out of PKR was that the party president Anwar Ibrahim had allegedly become a "rubber stamp".

"I didn't leave PKR because of Anwar alone. (It was also because of) his circle and the top leadership of the party.

"They make decisions for Anwar and ignore party rules and policy.

"To me, Anwar has become a rubber stamp... in all important party meetings," she said, according to the PNBBC website.

Daroyah is a two-term Sementa assemblyperson and Selangor legislative assembly deputy speaker.

On Saturday, she left the party and declared herself to be an independent lawmaker.

During the party leadership election in 2018, Daroyah was aligned to Azmin Ali's faction and was elected as the PKR women's wing deputy head.

In a separate development, Permatang lawmaker Rozana Zainal Abidin today denied that she was part of a plot to form a Perikatan Nasional government in Selangor.

In a statement, she said that the purported list of lawmakers that would form the new government - which contained her name - was fake.

She accused PN propagandists of publishing the purported list and said she was committed to the Selangor Pakatan Harapan government.

"I fully support PKR president Anwar Ibrahim and Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari.

"I hope the rakyat will continue to be with Harapan to form a New Malaysia that is free from corruption," she said. - Mkini
