Burglar caught on CCTV breaking into popular Alor Gajah bakery

ALOR GAJAH: Face masks are worn these days to offer some protection from the spread of Covid-19, but one man thought it could protect his identity when carrying out a burglary at a popular bakery chain outlet here.
Little did he realise that his criminal act was captured by the outlet's CCTV system and he is now being tracked by the police.
Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Arshad Abu said the break-in occurred at the bakery at the Jelatang Commercial Centre here on Friday (June 19).
He said a 26-year-old shop assistant discovered that the outlet was broken into when she reported to work at 10.15am on Friday.
"She alerted the police and an investigation team was dispatched to the scene," he said on Saturday (June 20).
Supt Arshad said the steel safe and cash machine were found to have been tampered with.
"The outlet lost close to RM7,000 as well as damage caused during the burglary," he said.
Supt Arshad said the burglary was staged at 5am on Friday (June 19).
He added that the case is being probed under Section 457 of the Penal Code for house breaking and a manhunt for the suspect has been launched. - Star
