IPOH: A foreign worker was killed when the rear section of a house being renovated collapsed on him at Taman Silibin Indah.
A Perak Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the victim died on the spot on Tuesday (June 2) at about 5.15pm.
The spokesman said the worker was doing some renovation works on a residential home when the structure collapsed and crushed him.
"Medical personnel confirmed that he died on the spot.
"We are now waiting for the police to arrive," he said.
Before this incident, Perak Infrastructure Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Zolkaply Harun had just visited the area to check on a problematic slope and some houses there that had been damaged by soil erosion.
It was reported on May 13 that eight homes in the area were damaged. - Star
