The Pakatan Harapan Plus alliance will have a decision on their prime minister candidate by Tuesday "God willing", said PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil.
"An announcement will be made within one week of the last meeting (on Tuesday)," he told reporters at the PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya today.
When quizzed whether PKR, DAP and Amanah leaders at today's Harapan presidential council meeting had made a decision, Fahmi (above) said the matter was still "under discussion".
Another Harapan Plus meeting with Dr Mahathir Mohamad's Bersatu faction, and Warisan, will take place at a yet undecided time, he added.
Harapan Plus currently has two main choices for their prime minister candidate.
Mahathir has reportedly offered to return for a third term of several months with PKR president Anwar Ibrahim as his deputy.
Anwar, however, has reportedly rejected this.
He had told Malaysiakini that he was 'cautiously' confident that he would be the coalition's prime minister candidate.
Among those present at today's Harapan meeting were DAP deputy chairperson Gobind Singh Deo, its organising secretary Anthony Loke and Amanah president Mohamad Sabu and his deputy Salahuddin Ayub. - Mkini
