MACC quizzes Bersatu Youth info chief in Syed Saddiq's missing money probe

Malaysiakini

Another Bersatu Youth exco member was today questioned by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in connection with its probe into missing cash from Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman's home.
Bersatu Youth information chief Ulya Aqamah Husamudin (photo) told Malaysiakini he had arrived at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya this afternoon and was questioned for about 30 minutes.
"I went in at around 2.15pm and the interrogation took about half an hour before they let me out," he said.
Bersatu Youth member Adam Mukhriz Mohd Muhayeddin and Syed Saddiq's aide Siti Nurul Hidayah had previously lodged police reports alleging intimidation by MACC officers while being questioned as witnesses to the investigation.
Separately, Syed Saddiq, who has insisted that he remains the Bersatu Youth chief, said his parents were called in today for the fourth time to assist in MACC's probe and they had offered full cooperation.
"Although I did not get to accompany Mama and Abuyah (father) this morning because of work commitments, I know that both of you are strong," he said in a Facebook post.
"Don't worry Mama. Don't worry Abuyah.
"Our family is on the right side and God is with the righteous," he said.
The Bersatu Youth faction aligned with former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad had accused the MACC of persecuting opponents of the Perikatan Nasional government.
The MACC had denied any political motivation, stating that it was merely investigating Syed Saddiq's (photocomplaint made in March over RM250,000 that went missing from his safe.
Mahathir is engaged in a power struggle with Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin for control of Bersatu and the government.
