Musa: Evidence of my innocence indisputable

Malaysiakini

Former Sabah chief minister Musa Aman said evidence of his innocence against graft charges were "very clear" and "indisputable".
In a statement after immediately after he was granted a full acquittal today, Musa also thanked God for ensuring justice was served.
"Alhamdulillah, I am grateful to God that finally, by God's will, I am given justice and my name is cleared from all allegations," said Musa.
In early 2019, Musa was brought to court on several occasions to face various charges - 46 in all - related to dirty money from timber companies.
The offences allegedly took place between 2004 and 2008, involving 16 companies and financial institutions in Hong Kong, China and Singapore.
In February, Musa had applied to strike out the 46 cases.
When the matter was heard today, prosecutors applied for a discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA).
However, Kuala Lumpur High Court judge Muhammad Jamil Hussin exercised his judicial discretion to grant Musa a full acquittal.
In Musa's statement, he also thanked prosecutors and judges for being "objective, professional and independent" in evaluating the facts of his cases over the past two years.
"God is fair and his promises are true for his servants who are patient.
"What happened to me and my family, is seen as a result of political differences. I take this as a test by God for our family," he said.
Musa's son Yamani Hafez, 40, is the Sipitang MP. Yamani left Umno in 2019 to join Bersatu on the government bench. Musa remained as an Umno member. - Mkini
