'Ratings' show Muhyiddin accepted by majority - Wan Ahmad Fayhsal

Malaysiakini

Ratings show that Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and the Perikatan Nasional are accepted by the majority of Malaysians, said Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal (above).
"Why is PN accepted by the public? If we look at the ratings, especially for Muhyiddin, it is because the majority of Malaysians, especially Malays and Bumiputeras, can accept the current leadership," said Wan Ahmad Fayhsal at a press conference today.
A recording of the press conference was obtained by Malaysiakini.
Wan Ahmad Fayhsal, however, did not mention the source of the ratings he alluded to. To date, there has been no approval rating survey published on the PN government led by Muhyiddin.
The deputy minister said this while responding to a query on Bersatu strategy and policy bureau chief Rais Hussin's tweet that it is difficult to imagine Bersatu Youth without Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.
This is after Syed Saddiq, together with Dr Mahathir Mohamad and three others, had their Bersatu memberships terminated.
Wan Ahmad Fayhsal, who is competing to become Bersatu Youth chief, said that while Syed Saddiq's contributions must not be forgotten, the party's struggle for Malay nationalism was bigger than any personality. He said he sees no obstacle for Bersatu Youth to grow even further without its founding chief.
The former officer for the Muar MP added that the two did not have any personal animosity between them.
"Between us, there is nothing personal," he said.
Bersatu is currently split into factions loyal to either Muhyiddin or Mahathir. This is after Muhyiddin took Bersatu out of Pakatan Harapan in February to form an alliance with Umno, BN, and PAS.
This led to a week-long political crisis after Mahathir refused to go along with the plan. The crisis ended with Muhyiddin being sworn in as the prime minister of a PN government. - Mkini
