Tabling of Budget 2021 now postponed from Oct to Nov

Malaysiakini

The tabling of the Budget 2021 by the finance minister in Parliament has been postponed from Oct 2 to Nov 6, said Dewan Rakyat Speaker Mohamad Ariff Mohd Yusof.
This is because the third session of Parliament for the year has been postponed from October and will now commence for 27 days from Nov 2 to Dec 15, 2020.
The tabling of the 12th Malaysia Plan has also been postponed from Aug 6, 2020, to a date yet to be determined by the government, he said.
“The postponement (of the tabling of the 12th Malaysia Plan) was decided after the government took into consideration the Covid-19 pandemic which has affected the country’s economy.
"It is to allow the government to conduct a further study as well as have more involvement with stakeholders,” Mohamad Ariff said in a statement today.
However, the second Parliament session for the year will proceed for 25 days as scheduled beginning July 13 to Aug 27, 2020.
For the July session, the agenda includes debating the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s address and attending to other bills and government business.
The previous Parliament session lasted only a few hours on May 18 with the only agenda being the Agong’s address. - Mkini
