It Was Mahathir, Not Muhyiddin, Says Kit Siang

And the reason why Mahathir collapsed the government and would rather see Muhyiddin take over as PM8 is because he did not want Anwar Ibrahim to take over as PM8. Pakatan Harapan wanted to oust Mahathir and replace him with Anwar. That is why Mahathir sabotaged Pakatan Harapan and brought down the government.

NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

I am surprised that I was mentioned in the last paragraph of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s statement yesterday, where he said:

“I thought that something similar was needed. But I failed because Kit Siang said I was trying to become a dictator. He supported Anwar as the PH candidate. Had the 92 votes gone to me I would have 154 votes. You can imagine what direction the nation would take when all parties put the nation first.”

This is Mahathir’s own conjecture. To put the record straight, PH’s decision to support Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as Prime Minister after Mahathir’s shocking resignation, was made unanimously by all three component parties of PH – DAP, PKR and Amanah. PH made the decision after Mahathir refused to continue as PH Prime Minister as well as abide and be bound by the PH General Election Manifesto.

There must be a PH Prime Minister and government to uphold and respect the people’s mandate granted in the 2018 general election. It is indeed unfortunate that Mahathir still refused to assume responsibility for his egregious blunder in resigning as Prime Minister when he had retained the support of the majority of the MPs, from Pakatan Harapan, Warisan and even Bersatu MPs. (Lim Kit Siang)

***************************************************************************

So, there you have it. What Pakatan Harapan has been saying these last 11 months is all nonsense. Muhyiddin Yassin is not a backdoor Prime Minister after all, like what the anti-Muhyiddin people (including those in Umno) have been repeating again and again.

The truth is, as what Malaysia Today has been saying for almost a year, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad blundered bigtime by resigning as Prime Minister.

His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong then tried to convince Mahathir to withdraw his resignation, but he refused to do so.

Since Mahathir was adamant on resigning, His Majesty then proposed Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as the acting or interim Prime Minister — which is normally the convention when the PM resigns (or dies), meaning the DPM takes over.

It was a Mahathir-Anwar power struggle that collapsed the government, which had nothing to do with Muhyiddin

However, Mahathir did not want Wan Azizah as the acting or interim PM. Hence His Majesty was left with no choice but to summon all 222 Members of Parliament to the Palace to ask them who they wanted as the new Prime Minister.

Only 220 MPs turned up (it seems two MPs were overseas) and more than half of them named Muhyiddin Yassin as their choice of PM8. (His Majesty did not state the actual number, other than more than half of the 220 MPs wanted Muhyiddin. But our Palace sources say 120 out of 220 MPs named Muhyiddin).

And that is the story of how Muhyiddin ended up as Prime Minister or PM8. So, what “violating the rakyat’s mandate” or “backdoor Prime Minister” are these Pakatan Harapan people talking about? Utter nonsense!

Pakatan Harapan plus those anti-Muhyiddin people in Umno are lying and are spreading fake news. Muhyiddin did not rampas the government. Mahathir gave the government away. Even Kit Siang now admits this after denying it for 11 months.

Mahathir blocked Dr Wan Azizah from taking over, leaving the Agong no choice but to appoint Muhyiddin

Now, which part of this story do the Pakatan Harapan people still not understand? I can understand the mother-tongue-educated DAP people susah nak paham. But don’t tell me the Umno people also tak paham after all that money wasted on the New Economic Policy or Dasar Ekonomi Baru to give these kampung boys proper education.
