PETALING JAYA: Zamri Yahya, head of Bukit Aman’s integrity and standards department, or the “internal affairs” unit, will become the new Special Branch chief, among several new appointments announced by federal police headquarters today.
Pahang police chief Abd Jalil Hassan will take over as director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and is set to be replaced by Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf, who is head at the IGP’s office.
Ramli will be replaced by Pahang CID chief Othman Nanyan.
Kamarudin Md Din will be the new Commercial Crime Investigation Department chief having been deputy director, while Mohd Kamal Kordi will be his new number two.
Bukit Aman’s Management Department director Ramli Din will take over as director of the Crime Prevention and Community Safety department, and Zaini Jass will take his current position.
Zainal Abidin Kasim, previously the Crime Prevention and Community Safety chief, will become the director of Internal Security and Public Order.
Current deputy Internal Security and Public Order chief Azri Ahmad will become the new JIPS director.
Meanwhile, Kedah and Terengganu will have new state police chiefs in Kamarul Zaman Mamat and Rohaimi Md Isa respectively. Rohaimi is currently the deputy Terengganu police chief.
These appointments will come into effect on July 1. - FMT
