  • KL July 31 — Hundreds of youth gathered in KL in #Lawan protest
  • crowd grew at Jalan Tun Perak below Masjid Jamek LRT Station was packed
  • protestors began to make their way slowly towards Dataran Merdeka
  • protestors sat on the main road and began chanting, holding posters, banners
  • Some brought mock corpses to symbolise deaths from Covid
  • protest organised by Sekretariat Solidariti Rakyat (SSR)
  • activists like Undi18’s Tharma Pillai, Afiq Adib, Muhammad Alshatri, Mohd Asraf
  • disappointed with the police for not allowing us in Dataran Merdeka
  • we adhered to SOPs and conduct ourselves properly,” he told Malay Mail.
  • SSR vowed that youth will continue to fight for justice
  • We’re proud of turnout today. young people willing to stand up for what’s right

My comments :

It is good that the protesters were peaceful and did not run wild, riot or  break public property. Maybe our young generation can show the world that they can be seen and heard without causing chaos.

Protests do not happen everyday but in democracies you can expect this to happen. It is high time our Government, Police etc work out their own SOPs (for the Police) to assist  in managing public protests.  Be more people friendly and things should work out well.

No one wants to protest forever. Especially young protesters. Their mothers and fathers will be calling them on the phone to come home soon. Everyone has better things to do than to protest.

I received WhatsApp pictures and comments from businessmen's chat groups basically supporting the protests.  The business people are unhappy with the way the economy is NOT being handled.

This is the larger threat to the economy and the country.

So to the Government, the Police, the KDN, the MKN, the ABC and the XYZ, sila ambil perhatian.

This is the biggest threat to our national security.

The biggest threat to the security and the safety of our country is the inability of the politicians to prosper the country. Tak kira Barisan Nasional, Pakatan Harapan, Perikatan Nasional atau siapa pun.  They have failed. And they are continuing to fail. And they will also be failing in the future.

Inilah musibah terbesar yang mengancam keselamatan negara kita.  The total ineptitude, the incompetence and the stupidity of the politicians.

It is so easy to manage this country and turn things around and move the country forward. But the shortsighted politicians (who are very few), the corrupt, the thieves, the monopolists, the racists and the religious psychos who are all very, very few in number are preventing the country from progressing.

The entire future, peace and well being of 32 million people is being held hostage by a few thousand greedy people only. Sadly these few thousand people are in power.

So use your heads - is it easier to manage 32 million people or handle a few thousand greedy kepala bapaks?
