The Dewan Rakyat sitting has been postponed by a week.
In a notice to MPs, Dewan Rakyat secretary Nizam Mydin Bacha Mydin informed them that the next sitting will commence from Sept 13 until Oct 12.
The new dates will also see the Dewan Rakyat convene for an extra two days for a total of 17 days compared to the previous schedule of 15 days.
The Dewan Rakyat was previously supposed to convene from Sept 6 until Sept 30.
The initial date was set by the previous government under former premier Muhyiddin Yassin where he was supposed to test his majority.
However, the Bersatu president resigned as the prime minister on Aug 16.
Umno vice-president Ismail Sabri Yaakob was sworn in as the new premier on Aug 21. His cabinet was sworn in yesterday.
Following the swearing-in of a new government, the Parliament schedule was slightly tweaked.
While in session, the Dewan Rakyat sits four days a week from Monday to Thursday. - Mkini
