STRANGE ANIMAL BEHAVIOUR AGAIN : ELEPHANTS IN KLUANG, SEA CUCUMBERS IN LANGKAWI, JUNGLE FOWL IN BERANANG

A few days ago there were videos of herds of elephants (up to 40 elephants) crossing the road in two different locations along the Kluang - Kahang - Mersing road in Johor.

Here is one such video:

As though the elephants are afraid of something and want to move away from it.

Today there is news of sea cucumbers (bronok?) piling up by the thousands on the shore somewhere in Langkawi.

This morning just behind my house, a wooded area that is full of jungle fowl (ayam hutan) there was this one colourful fellow just walking along the road and not taking flight or disappearing which is their normal behaviour. We were able to video the bird for a while.

Unusual wild animal behaviour like this has been noticed before, usually prior to some natural calamity like earthquakes. The animals leave their natural environment and start appearing here and there.

There is a solar eclipse today in the southern hemisphere. Parts of Western Australia will be in complete darkness for about a minute starting 11.15 am (both KL and Perth time).

But I dont think solar eclipses trigger the strange animal behaviour.

Lets hope the Indian Ocean and Pacific Rim folks remain safe.
