PUTRAJAYA: The Federal Court today dismissed the Kedah government's application for leave to appeal against a Court of Appeal ruling declaring its ban on business licences for gaming operators unconstitutional.
A three-member bench led by Datuk Rhodzariah Bujang dismissed the application and ordered the state government to pay RM50,000 in costs.
Sitting on the panel were Datuk Collin Lawrence Sequerah and Datuk Azmi Ariffin.
The court held that the leave application failed to satisfy the threshold required under Section 96(a) of the Courts of Judicature Act 1964. - NST
