The parking management company's denial follows complaints that went viral on social media, with MRT users expressing dissatisfaction over an individual allegedly openly collecting payment from motorists at the facility.
In a statement, ParkIt said the person collecting payment at the entrance was neither its employee nor representative.
"ParkIt does not collect any parking fees at Maluri MRT at present and does not authorise any party to collect payments on our behalf," it said.
Earlier, Threads user hnnalily uploaded a photograph of a man wearing a black collared shirt and holding up a QR code on his mobile phone, allegedly to collect parking payments online.
The user questioned the man's identity and expressed frustration over the RM5 fee.
ParkIt said it had taken action over the incident, including lodging a police report and handing over video footage of the incident to the authorities.
It also referred the incident to MRT Corp, Rapid KL, police and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).
Rapid KL representatives, accompanied by Prasarana auxiliary police personnel, had visited the location to inspect the area and monitor security.
"Users are advised to record the time and location of any such incident, and report it to the police via the 999 emergency line or send a direct message (DM) to ParkIt," it said. - NST
