PETALING JAYA:
The remand for the first suspect detained to assist in the investigation into the death of a Form 2 male student in Kuala Pilah has been extended by seven days, from tomorrow until Oct 8.

Negeri Sembilan police chief Alzafny Ahmad said the application to extend the suspect’s remand was made at the Kuala Pilah magistrates’ court this morning, Bernama reported.

Yesterday, Alzafny reported that 69 statements had been recorded to date.

He also said five students had come forward to claim they had been bullied by one of the two suspects detained in connection with the Form 2 student’s death.

On Sept 25, Form 2 student Idlan Fareeq Shahril was found unconscious in the dormitory of a sports school in Kuala Pilah. He was taken to Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Idlan’s aunt alleged that a senior at the school hostel had assaulted her nephew.

The first suspect, a Form 4 student, was arrested on Saturday and remanded for six days. On Tuesday, another 16-year-old student was arrested and remanded for six days.

Police said the victim was caught vaping by a warden on Sept 23 before the senior students allegedly took further action against him. - FMT
