Zahrain Furnishes Proof Of Raja Petra's Sponsors In London

Evidence of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) sponsoring fugitive blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin's stay in London has been furnished to Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Mohd Nazri Aziz, said Bayan Baru Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Zahrain Mohamed Hashim.

He said he had furnished the proof which was in the form of e-mail contents to Nazri and was willing to be quizzed by the police concerning the matter.

"I have supplied the documents to Nazri. The proof will be revealed at the right time and the minister himself I believe is willing to be investigated by the police. So too I," he told Bernama on Wednesday.

On Saturday, Nazri had said that the government had evidence that Raja Petra, who escaped overseas after not turning up for his sedition trial last year, was being sponsored by PKR in London.

Zahrain said he hoped the authorities including the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) would not get caught in the trap of PKR's political games, especially those involving issues related to Raja Petra and private investigator P.Balasubramaniam.

In connection with this, he praised the MACC for not sending its officers to London recently to record statements from Balasubramaniam regarding the murder of Mongolian woman Altantuya Shaariibuu.

"We know that even if the officers went there, what Balasubramanian would have revealed would have been what was scripted to him by his lawywers.

"The truth is his (Balasubramniam's) lawyer is a PKR lawyer who is very close to Anwar (PKR advisor Anwar Ibrahim," he said, adding that Anwar and Federal Territories PKR chief Datuk Zaid Ibrahim, whom he alleged had close ties to Raja Petra and Balasubramaniam, should use their influence on them to get them to return to Malaysia.

"If they are responsible leaders, they should advise the duo to return to Malaysia and face up to anyone," he added.

Balasubramanian went missing after making two Statutory Declarations (SDs), each contradicting the other, regarding the murder of Altantuya.

Malaysian internet news portals lately have displayed pictures of Raja Petra and Balasubramniam with Zaid in London. - Bernama
