Umno Youth pledges 1,000 votes for Galas

PARIT (Bernama)— Umno Youth will ensure that over 1,000 members, particularly those living in Kuala Lumpur, return and vote in Galas by-election.

Exco member Hisamudin Yahya said the members’ return would ensure that the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate wins with a comfortable margin.

“We are confident of recapturing Galas as the PAS candidate won with only a 646 vote majority,” he said at an Umno Youth programme with Rumah Amal Nur Kasih Bestari in Bota Kanan here today.

He urged Gua Musang Umno Youth to present a list of members living outside Galas so that they could be traced.

Hisamuddin, who is also Umno Youth membership and electorate registration chairman, said it would also send a team to help the Galas BN election machinery.

The Galas by-election is being called following the death of incumbent Chek Hashim Sulaiman, 46, from colon cancer on September 27 in Kuala Lumpur.

The Election Commission will meet on Wednesday to fix the nomination and polling dates. — Bernama
