KUALA LUMPUR, March 11 — The High Court here was asked today to compel Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to provide DNA samples in his second sodomy trial.
Solicitor-General II Datuk Mohd Yusof Zainal Abiden said the High Court could do so under Section 73 and Section 165 of the Evidence Act.
“To ascertain the truth, should obtain proper proof of facts ... whether unknown DNA found in Saiful’s anus belongs to Datuk Seri Anwar,” said Yusof at the High Court here today.
Government scientist Dr Seah Lay Hong testified last month that she had found two unknown male DNA profiles around the anus of Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, one of which she had earlier called “Male Y”.
