The UMNO led Barisan Nasional government announced yesterday that they are finally releasing all Bahasa Malaysia Bibles that were impounded at Port Klang and Kuching although the "ALLAH" issue is still unsolved.
To make the situation even worst, there were many conflicting comments by UMNO leaders especially DPM Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Minister in Prime Minister's Department, Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz and Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein that the Cabinet have not made any decision and that the AG Chambers are still studying the request in light of an pending appeal.
The final decision of the release was suddenly announced by another Minister, Senator Datuk Seri Idris Jala yesterday evening.
Perkasa and certain Peninsula based Muslim NGO's have been very adamant that these Bibles must be banned since it would create controversy and confusion with the Muslims since these Bibles call their God as ALLAH too.
UMNO members and supporters are now puzzled as of the current decision.
It seems the recent announcement were made to get the support of Sarawakians to vote for the Barisan Nasional into power in Sarawak. Sarawak elections must be conducted by mid of this year. Sarawak is faced by various crisis - Bible issue, Taib Mahmud corrupt practice, Native Land Issue, rising cost and so forth.
Will UMNOputras 'revolt' against this decision?
