KUALA LUMPUR, April 6 — A low-profile businessman who was dragged into a sensational case of murder and intrigue linked to the prime minister’s family three years ago, emerged today to give his side of the story in a bid to protect his family and business.

“Firstly, it is true that I know Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah. I have been their supplier of carpets and other interior products over the last few years. What is stated otherwise in the Malaysia Today article about me is not true,” he told a news conference here this evening, referring to the article headlined: “Carpetman, bagman, toyboy has been bagged”.
