I recently received a scanned image of a letter containing the Fatwa about the Pongal festival. It says that Muslim students of UUM are prohibited to participate or attend the Pongal festival because it fears that it will deviate them from their faith.
I think this is an insult to both the Hindu and Muslim community. Lately the muftis has been quick to create nonsense fatwas and this trend is worrying.
