Saying this today, inspector-general of police Ismail Omar (left) said the police have also recorded a statement from the woman.
The police have yet to receive feedback, however, from the Omega watch company as to the identity of the owner said to have left his watch in the hotel room.
"We have already identified who is the male involved in the sexual act (in the video).
"However, we cannot divulge details as to who is it as it is under investigation," said Ismail.
"The woman has been identified, but I cannot give details. Police will complete (the) investigations soon and pass the paper to the Attorney-General's Chambers soon."
He reiterated that the video clip was found to be genuine and that there should be no questions regarding its authenticity.
However, despite being asked many times where the clip is or the room where the video was recorded, Ismail appeared evasive and ventured to say only that the matter is still under investigation.
When pointed out charges could not be pressed if the incident happened outside Malaysia, Ismail said the police will make sure that the investigation is in line with the Evidence Act and Criminal Procedure Code.
