There is no better govt than BN, Najib tells Sarawakians

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said Sarawakians will have a better future under the Barisan Nasional, a government which he described as having clear goals for the future.

"You have a bright future, don't turn it away. We have mapped out the future for the next 10 years, a comprehensive, detailed roadmap to achieve Vision 2020," he said at the meet-the-people session here, Thursday night.

He advised the people of Miri to continue supporting the BN.

"We want a stronger government, which is represented by all races in Sarawak, so we can work together for the future of the state," he said at the function which was also attended by Deputy Chief Minister and Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) president Tan Sri Dr George Chan, and Water, Energy and Green Technology Minister Datuk Seri Peter Chin Fah Kui as well as BN candidates Datuk Lee Kim Shin for Senadin, Andy Chia (Pujut), Rosey Yunus (Bekenu) and Ripin Lamat (Lambir).

Najib also reassured the people that power transition in Sarawak would happen and that it would take place in a proper manner.

"And he (Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud) needs to prepare the next echelon of leaders to take over the leadership to ensure that there will be continued stability in the state.

"I can assure you it will happen. It will happen. Don't make this an issue," he said.

He added that the federal government would also be around to help and support Sarawakians in preparing for their future.

On another note, the prime minister pointed out that there would be no better government other than the BN.

He added that the country's economic growth and investor confidence in Malaysia was proof that the nation under the BN was assured of a good future.
