THE HIDDEN barbed wire hidden in the bushes on the boundaries of a new apartment project near Sunny Garden in Kota Kinabalu is a complaint received by Sabah DAP KK MP office recently. The people who walk past the new apartment noticed that there is a sign board stating; “Private Property, No Trespassing, and showing the barbed wire drawn on it.”

The people said the barbed wires are being laid on the perimeter near the road and hidden inside the bushes and grass. The barbed wire cannot be seen easily and the sign board will not help. The people and especially children will easily be caught in it if they are not careful and did not see the barbed wires.

Edward Ewol Mujie the Sabah Vice chairman went to inspect the location where the barbed were fixed, and saw the barbed do present some danger to the surrounding next to the road. He said even though this barbed wire is used to stop the people from entering the private compound and the apartment.

This barbed wire hidden in the bushes can be an item which can be a public hazard and can caused bodily harm. Just imaging if a boy loses control of his bicycle and ran into the barbed wire, what will happen?

This can be a serious issue and the owner can be sued for any incident. The DBKK should come and inspect the barbed wire hidden in the bushes because this is on the road side. The owner should replace this barbed wire to some other fencing system to minimize the potential danger to the walker-by and the children here.
