The insult of the highest order by JAIS

  1. I write this with a very heart. I had drafted two posts earlier when the JAIS officers raided a church but felt it was not good enough for me to post. This is my third attempt. After reading the views of Mohd Asri, the former Mufti of Perlis onMalaysiakini, I felt that it is time that I made my feeling known about the subject matter. Firstly I must say that the action of JAIS is unjustified and done without any wisdom. Not only it insulted the institution and the Sultan but most importantly it insulted us Muslims.

  2. Islam is the official religion of the country. That has never been disputed by anyone that can think straight without any political inclination. Unfortunately, the authority that is empowered to promote Islam is not doing it intelligently. They seem to be good at shooting themselves in the foot. In this country Islam gets the legislative and financial backing of the state and federal government and yet they move about as if they are pauper organization and appear to be managed by bunch unprofessional and incompetent people. Why is it that likes to portray an antagonistic image to the society at large and especially against the non Muslims?

  3. Religion is a very personal matter between a man and his creator. Instead of using the organization to promote the religion with broad based positive social activities, the focus seems to be on “religious policing”. If indeed that is their interest and that is what is demanded by the religion, they should start by looking at the Head of Islam in the state and ensure 100% conformity to Islamic practices before policing the people.

  4. Instead they create barriers between Non Muslim and the Mosque. The preachers are not engaging the community intelligently. They lack the 4P’s skills in the “business of promoting Islam”. They are not using the religion to bring people of all religion together. Instead they are dividing the people of this nation with their poor approaches. They seems to be good issuing “don’t statements”

  5. Recently, l listened to a preacher who talks about the Dates (korma) and its importance in Islamic religious practices. I was simply dumb founded when I listen to this guy who looks at the subject matter in such a narrow scope. He failed to appreciate that the fruit was used in many aspect in life in the Middle East because of its sugar content and its availability.

  6. After the event over dinner I asked the preacher, if he knows of any other fruits that is available openly during prophet Mohamed days in the Middle East and he said he was not sure. I went a step further and explained to him that if the Durian could thrive in the desert during prophet days, the Malaysian Durian would hit the global Islamic market and people worldwide will break their fast with Durian instead of Dates! That is a reflection of the quality of people that we entrusted with promoting the National religion. Personally, I think Asri makes sense which people can appreciate.
