DAP parliamentarians are demanding that Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin apologises for his snide remarks against Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng's 16-year-old son or risk losing his credibility.
At a joint press conference today, Petaling Jaya MP Tony Pua lashed out at pro-Umno bloggers for "sinking to despicable depths" to wreck a teenager's life.
"They are bottom feeders of the society, and are a complete disgrace to their race, religion and country.
"These bloggers even attempted to lend credibility to the concoction by putting up the picture of a young girl," Pua said, referring to a posting on a blog with photo of the alleged victim.
Pua said DAP's IT manager Goh Kheng Teong had identified the girl as Anya Corke, 21, a British citizen who, as a teenager, had been Hong Kong's national chess champion.
"(She is) now a third year student at a top liberal arts college in the United States. All these prove beyond doubt that the accusations by these Umno cybertroopers are nothing but barbaric lies," he said.
