Enough Wee Ka Siong, don't try to cover up your dirty deeds

Enough Wee Ka Siong, don't try to cover up your dirty deeds

PKR Youth information chief Lee Khai Loon has challenged MCA Youth chief Wee Ka Siong a debate, accusing the Deputy Education Minister of trying to divert attention from the fact that he had tried to use "pretty" women to lure new members into the fast-shrinking wing.

Fittingly, the debate is to be entitled “What are the healthy ways to encourage youths to join politics?”.

"I am ready to debate with Wee Ka Siong to shift the focus back on the real issue behind the involvement of young women in MCA Youth. MCA Youth was only allowing the young women to be photographed but it did not allow them to express their opinions at the AGM," Khai Loon said in a statement to the press.

"To make it worse, MCA Youth is also objecting to the demands of Wanita MCA for a 30% quota for women in policy making. Who is disrespecting women now?"

Decorative dolls

MCA had rushed to slam Khai Loon and Rawang assemblywoman Gan Pei Nei after the duo accused Ka Siong and team of treating the ladies as decorative dolls during the recent Youth annual assembly to attract young blood into the wing.

Beliawanis, the Women's Youth wing, too grabbed for its share of the limelight, directing its attack at Pei Nei for not standing up for the female gender.

When it was later revealed that 4 of the 10 stunningly pretty girls who graced the MCA Youth assembly were professional models and not MCA or Beliawanis members, Ka Siong came out to accuse Khai Loon and Pei Nei of splitting hairs.

So what, even if they were models, they can still be interested in politics, said Ka Siong, omitting to explain why Beliawanis had lied when it insisted the girls were really party members.

Ka Siong also accused Khai Loon and PKR of being behind the Suara Keadilan Malaysiawebsite, a "fake" blog using the name of PKR's newspaper Suara Keadilan but is unconnected to the party. Most of the postings in this blog contain anti-PKR material.

"Wee is linking PKR Youth to a fake blog without any proof," said Khai Loon. "MCA Youth and Beliawanis have ganged up with Wee to obtain sympathy and to shift the main focus of political discourse."

Refused to let the press speak to the girls

Additionally, if Wee was telling the truth, why is he obstructing the media from interviewing the young women, asked Khai Loon. He further revealed that the MCA Youth had refused to allow any of the press to meet and speak with the young ladies to get the real and full story.

Indeed, the confusion over the membership of the young women has cast a question mark on Wee and MCA Youth. Did they resort to sexist moves to give themselves an aura of 'macho-ness' so as to mask their ineffectiveness in pushing for political reform for the MCA?

Khai Loon also took Wee to task for claiming that it was PKR Youth's duty to lodge a police report on the 'fake' blog.

"Wee’s logic does not make sense, critics must be responsible. Wee said the PKR Youth must be responsible and make a report on the fake blog to the authorities. Does Wee also agree that a person who did not catch the thief is also a thief? Wouldn’t everyone be a thief if Wee’s logic is sound?" challenged Khai Loon.

Till now, Ka Siong has closed an eye to the debate challenge, and chances are high he will not pick up the gauntlet.
